Former Nigeria’s Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has said that they have gone far in their negotiations with other political opponents towards establishing a mega party that will oust the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

Atiku stated this while answering questions in a BBC Hausa service program on politics recently.

Atiku who was the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election said their meeting with the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate Peter Obi was very fruitful.

“Whosoever thinks here is going to be any disagreement between myself and Peter Obi is getting it wrong, nothing will happen and in the future we will accept any candidate that wins for as long as he is qualified.

“I have said it in the past that if our party will come together and unanimously accept a candidate from the Southeast we will support him.

“In the mean time we are discussing all possible ways of merging to create a mega party in order to achieve our goal.
