Following the recent clampdown on Pro-Palestinian Demonstration in Kaduna, where the State Police Command killed five and injured 25 protesters, a popular human rights activist and political scientist, Zainab Dabo, has called on Governor Uba Sani to relieve Samuel Aruwan of his position as Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs.

Aruwan has been a loyalist of the immediate past Governor Elrufai under who he served in different capacities adding that he does not fit into the Uba Sani composition.

Dabo made the call on her verified X handle (formerly Twitter) recently his method and that of his boss, the former Kaduna State Governor Nasiru Elrufai as terroristic against the Shi’ite adherents in the state.

She explained that as Citizens, the Shi’ites have right to their choice of religion and the state should not be seen to be killing them at will.

“On the killings of Shiites today I urge Gov Uba Sani to remove Samuel Aruwan from his position as these deliberate policy of terror against Shiites is what he and his boss Nasiru Elrufai were known for. Leaving him in office is akin to reinstating a failure.

“Same way poor Kadalites (Kaduna people) are not being dispossessed of their means of livelihood like it happened in the past or displaced deliberately due to your in-depth knowledge and understanding of leading a state that isn’t poor, I urge you to also bring in a new person who has a different outlook on Shiites protests which is well within their universal rights.

“Aruwan alongside Elrufai sank Kaduna into the unprecedented insecurity the state is struggling with, he has overstayed his welcome and should leave so a more equipped person with different approach to security is given the Job in the Interest of the state” she stated.
