The Patriotic Volunteers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, under the leadership of the former Secretary to the State Government in the immediate past administration, Usman Alhaji, has announced the nomination of Ibrahim Dan’azumi Gwarzo as it’s choice of the next chairman of the party in Kano state.
The announcement was made by the group at an international press conference on Wednesday in Kano presented by the spokesman of the group, Saleh Adamu Kwaru.
The statement which was copied to the National Chairman of the Party Abdullahi Ganduje, Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, Special Adviser to the President Political, Ibrahim Masari and the 2023 Kano APC gurbernaorial candidate Nasiru Gawuna also described the group as a collection of patriotic members of APC loyal to the current leadership.
However, the group also noted that they are not a parallel group in the party and are also not against the current Chairman of the party Abdullahi Abbas, who they say has done well over the years.
Making the presentation, the spokesman of the volunteer group said the party in Kano needs a steadfast party loyalist that is skilled and has the capacity toobilize support for it, a quality they have found in their choice of candidate, a man that has won the 2022 Man Of Integrity Award by Gani Fawehimi Foundation, Lagos.
“The Party in Kano needs a steadfast party loyalist to steer its ship to shore, much like a skilled captain navigating treacherous waters.
“This individual must possess exceptional leadership qualities to mobilize support, harness the energy of the people and foster solid loyalty while forging lasting alliances. In the light of our party’s mission to promote unity, progress and democratic values, the Patriotic Volunteers after due consultations with members of the Party strongly endorse a seasoned Politician in the person of Hon. Ibrahim Dan’azumi Gwarzo for the party’s chairmanship in Kano” he stated.
Concluding the statement, the spokesman further called for the need to strengthen the party foundation and uphold Democratic ideals to forge a brighter future for Kano state.
“Together, let us strengthen our party’s foundations, uphold democratic ideals and forge a brighter future for Kano State.
“We urge all members of the APC and the people of Kano State to rally behind Hon. Ibrahim Dan’azumi Gwarzo as he embarks on this journey to lead our party with integrity, vision, and a commitment to the principles that define us.
