Yoruba Community Constitutes N500 Million Funds Raising Community To Construct Palace, Others

The Sarki of the Yoruba Community in Kano, Alhaji (Ambassador) Murtala Alimi Otisese (Adetimirin I) has announced the formation of N500 million fund raising community for construction of community palace for Yorubas residents in the state.  

The funds to be realized will also be meant for the construction of a
residential quarters for staff, a school for the less privileged, and a multi-purposed hall that will serve as a Community Centre and revenue-generating space for the Palace administration.

Making this known in a statement signed by Prince Zakariyau AbdulRasheed Rotimi, the, Palace Secretary, a copy was made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Kano.

However, Oba Murtala then stated that “To achieve the ambitious fundraising target of N500 million, the committee comprises five members, with Chief Akande Omotayo Kazeem, appointed as the chairperson, and Chief Femi Smith Johnson serving as his assistant.

According to him,”This project will not only enhance the Palace’s operations but will also significantly contribute to the welfare of our people.

“To truly serve our community, we must adapt and modernize our facilities and offerings” the Sarkin Yarbawan Kano Oba Murtala stated.

The committee will work diligently to organize events and programs aimed at raising the necessary funds in a timely manner, ensuring the project’s swift commencement.

Kazeem remarked, “We are determined to mobilize support from our community and beyond, engaging everyone in this noble cause.

”The committee will begin its work immediately, laying the groundwork for events that will draw attention to the project and encourage contributions from both local and international donors.

“Together, we can create a lasting legacy that will benefit future generations and foster unity and progress within our community” he said.
