The former Senator representing Kaduna North Central Senatorial Zone, Sen. Shehu Sani has thanked the Almighty God for revealing the truth between himself and the immediate past Governor of the state Nasiru Elrufai.
Addressing newsmen recently at the Aminu Kano Centre For Democratic Studies in Kano after an event the Senator explained that he did all possible to stop the immediate past Governor from placing the state in undue indebtedness.
He revealed that Elrufai had insulted and cursed him publicly for that to the extent that he told him that time would reveal who actually truly loves the people of Kaduna State.
“What more would I tell them? I have said all I needed to say. While in office I warned the Kaduna State government against taking loans and even blocked access to such loans.
“Former Governor Nasiru Elrufai fought me on this, insulted me because of this and even cursed me. I told him then that time will reveal who truly loves the people of Kaduna between myself and him.
“Today he is no more in power and those he put in place are now condemning his funds misappropriation as well as the loans they secured.
“Today I thank and praise the Almighty God for clearing and availing me” Shehu Sani stated while responding to questions from newsmen in Hausa.
It would be recalled that recently the Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani had complained of his inability to pay workers salaries due to the debt burden of $350 million, second only to Lagos state in Nigeria, left behind by his predecessor Nasiru Elrufai.
The Kaduna State House of Assembly has since initiated a probe into the funds misappropriation by the Nasiru Elrufai led administration.
However, Sani had called for an independent probe of the former state administration as well as the contractors by Auditors and Accountants in order to reveal the truth about the funds misappropriation by the Elrufai led administration.
