Responding to claims that Kano is one of the amber states in the country where there is insecurity, the Deputy Governor of Kano state Comrade Aminu Abdussalam dismissed it saying there is no physical security threat in Kano state.

The Deputy Governor made the statement after declaring the 2024 Law Week Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) open in Kano on Monday.

“Kano is among the safest places in this country if not the safest in the entire West African region.

“People should disabuse their minds feel very safe to come to Kano for whatever business or developmental activity.

“We don’t have any physical security threat at all in Kano

“The saying that Kano is Coming from red to amber is not a fair treatment for the state at all. Kano is green.

“This is a misinformation and people should disabuse their minds from it by spreading the fact that Kano is safe. Wherever you go let people know that Kano is indeed safe” the Deputy Governor says.

The Deputy Governor expressed concern following the wrong information passed to groups and individuals concerning insecurity in Kano that had led to cancellation of important developmental events and programs scheduled to take place in the state.

Earlier, while delivering her goodwill message, the Chief Justice of Kano, Dije Abdu Aboki complained to the NBA of how events that will help develop the legal practitioners in the state are cancelled and moved to other states under the pretext that Kano is an amber state.

She stated that Kano is indeed peaceful and should not be treated as such. It is on this matter that the Deputy Governor responded and called on the NBA to take the message forward that Kano is not an amber state.
