We have compiled our achievements and what the initiative has done in one year. This is to familiarize you with how far we have gone and how far we are willing to go.

1. Pad a Girl Child Campaign:

In commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day in May, 2023, we launched the “Pad a Girl Child” campaign, raising awareness about menstrual health and hygiene education. Thereby positively impacted 50 adolescent girls of Halilu Pretty Jewel Comprehensive School, Bukuru and distributed sanitary pads to ensure their well-being.

2. Summer Lesson Class:

In August 2023, we launched a Summer Lesson Class, providing educational opportunities for 30 out-of-school girls in the Bukuru Community, with the dedication of 7 volunteer teachers across 2 centers, and in turn, empowered these girls through education for a period of 5 weeks.

3. Scholarship Opportunities and Support:

Following the Summer Lesson Class, we extended our support by sponsoring the education of 30 girls from Bukuru and Gyel communities, providing them with full scholarships, school supplies, and essential items to aid their learning journey.

4. International Day of the Girl Child:

We celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child in October 2023, engaging 100 adolescent girls from Premier Academy, Bukuru. Through informative sessions, distribution of sanitary pads as well as educational materials, we empowered these girls to thrive in health, leadership, and education.

5. Recognition and Partnership:

In January 2024, our organization was honored to be shortlisted by the Yagazie Foundation for our advocacy on ending period poverty in the Northern Region. This recognition led to a partnership where we received support in the form of 10 cartons of Kotex Panty Liners to further our mission.

6. Expansion of Awareness Campaigns:

Continuing our commitment to menstrual health and hygiene education, we expanded our awareness campaign to Government Secondary School Bukuru in February 2024, impacting 150 girls and distributing panty liners generously donated by Yagazie Foundation in partnership with Kimberly Clarke and Kotex Ng.

7. Collaboration for Women Empowerment:

In March 2024, we collaborated with Standup for Women, Plateau State Chapter, and Mangu Women Mediators to celebrate International Women’s Day. Together, we empowered displaced women from 17 local government areas of Plateau State, offering support and opportunities for their upliftment.

8. Compassionate Outreach:

Also in March 2024, in honor of International Women’s Day, we extended our awareness campaign to the Jos Custodial Centre, donating 3 cartons of (48 packs) of panty liners to female inmates to promote their menstrual hygiene and well-being.

9. Membership Award:

In April, 2024, the organization received its official membership certificate awarded to it by The Nigeria Network of NGOs after undergoing verification processes.

Therefore, as we celebrate these accomplishments, we recognize that our work is far from over.
