Disciples and family members of renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi have debunked the insinuations in the social media that the cleric is dead.

The disciples carpeted the wrong story filtering the social media platform as figment of imagination without any iota of truth.

It could be recalled that the social media creativity since last week went on rampage with the claim that the Islamic cleric has been in a critical condition of health, another claim also denied by the Sheikh’s family members.

Also speaking to the our correspondent, one of the disciples of the cleric, Malam Daha Azhary Bauchi, one of the closest to him, said, “Maulana Sheikh is in a good condition of health. He will be back to Bauchi today from Abuja; he will be back home this evening.

“It is simply the machinations of some religious foes whose preoccupation is to disrupt peace and peaceful co-existence,” Daha frowned.

Another disciple of the Sheikh, Abubakar Ibrahim Wunti, also brushed aside the rumours saying “Sheikh Maulana Dahiru is alive. He will be back from Abuja to Bauchi today because he didn’t go for the lesser Hajj.”

Mallam Abubakar explained that “What the Sheikh is battling with is old age, not sickness, and we are constantly praying God to improve his health condition to overcome the old age, and may Allah also lead the rumour peddlers onto the right path.”

Also Sir Abdullah Sheikh, one of the cleric’s sons debunked the rumour in one of the pages of his Facebook, affixing his new photos where he was thanking his father for a successful completion of this year’s Ramadan Qur’anic Tafsir.
