Nigerians have been called upon to support the Nigerian military onslaught against terrorist in the fight against insecurity in the country.

The call was made on Friday by Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso, an All Progressive Congress (APC) stalwart in Kano while appealing to Nigerians to shun double standards against the government.

He lamented that some Nigerians are more interested in promoting negative stories that will paint the government black but neglect it’s positive achievements.

“Just imagine how they break the news and how they spread it when bandits attack and kill people. But when the military attack and kill bandits they don’t promote it.

“We should understand that this things is affecting all of us and we have to be honest with ourselves and rally behind the hardworking military.

“Just of recent, the military neutralized some terrorists in Bassa and Shiroro in Niger state but it has not become an issue. We have to help blow their trumpets to encourage them instead of promoting the activities of the terrorists and making them feel magnificent” he stated.

He further expressed gratitude to the Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle and the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu for their efforts in empowering the military in their operations.

Kwankwaso also dismissed the claims of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) that the popularity of President Bola Tinubu is diminishing in the north.

He explained that president Tinubu is only one year into his administration and cannot be judged without seeing the outcome of the policies he put in place.

“The issue of insecurity is the one inherited from the past regime and cannot be blamed on President Tinubu who is already taking giant strides to deal with the situation” he explained.
