Media reports have confirmed that Abdulaziz Ganduje, the eldest son of the suspended National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has added salt to injury by paying a visit to the Kano anti-graft agency to commend the probing of his father over alleged corruption.

Abdulaziz visited Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, the chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) on Wednesday.

It would be recalled that the PCACC had filed series of charges against Ganduje, his wife Hafast and his son Umar over misappropriation and diversion of public funds running into billions of naira.

It could also be recalled that Abdulaziz had raised eyebrows in 2021 when he filed a petition against his mother Hafsat Ganduje to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged land fraud.

In the current alleged corruption case, Ganduje has been charged with receiving about $413,000 in kickbacks from contractors as well as diversion of N1.2 billion.

His co-defendants in the case are Abubakar Bawuro, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited and Lasage General Enterprises Limited.

The charge sheet stated that the former governor thereby committed the offence of official corruption contrary to and punishable under Section 22 of The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission Law 2008 (as amended), Law No2 of 2009, Laws of Kano State of Nigeria.

An online medium, the Daily Nigerian cited sources that Abdulazeez had also supported the charges filed against his father, mother and brother by the commission.

“Abdulazeez is fully in support of these charges filed against his parents. He has also complained to the commission chairman that his name was unlawfully removed as a director of one of the companies facing trial. He bitterly lamented how he was removed without his consent,” the source added.
