Former AIG Abdurrahman Calls For Professionalism In Policing

The Nigeria Police Academy hosted a strategic security lecture series, featuring former Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Dr. Ahmad Abdulrahman, as the guest lecturer.

The event, held at the CBN Auditorium of the academy, brought together senior officers, directors, heads of departments, and cadets to discuss the challenges of policing in modern Nigeria.

The lecture series, inspired by the vision of the 22nd Indigenous Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, provided a platform for AIG Dr. Ahmad to share his wealth of experience and expertise on the challenges facing the Nigeria Police Force. The event was hosted by the 24th Commandant of the academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, who was represented by the Deputy Commandant.

In his lecture, titled “The Challenges of Policing in Modern Nigeria,” AIG , Dr. Ahmad highlighted the complexities and nuances of policing in a rapidly changing society. He emphasized the need for law enforcement agencies to adapt to emerging trends and technologies, while also addressing the root causes of insecurity in the country.

AIG. Ahmad Abdurrahman stressed that professionalism is key to building trust and confidence in the police force, and that it requires a commitment to excellence, integrity, and accountability. He also discussed the operational challenges facing the Nigeria Police Force, including inadequate equipment, insufficient training, and poor welfare for officers.
