The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir-Usman, has pledged to support the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in reducing road accidents in the state.

The Emir made the pledge during a courtesy visit from the newly posted state Sector Commander, Mr Aliyu Ma’aji, at his palace in Katsina on Tuesday.

Kabir-Usman, who emphasised that road safety was everyone’s responsibility, urged collective support for the corps to minimise road traffic crashes.

The Emir encouraged the FRSC to collaborate with other agencies to achieve its objectives and commended the Corp Marshal’s efforts to digitise FRSC operations nationwide.

He acknowledged the importance of a unified approach to address road safety concerns.

Earlier, Ma’aji solicited the Emir’s support and prayers, promising that the command would commence its ember month’s activities the following week.

He assured the Emir of his commitment to reducing road crashes in the state and outlined plans to reconstitute mobile courts to prosecute recalcitrant traffic offenders.

He said there would be town hall meeting to discuss road safety issues and identify solutions, to enhance road safety during the peak travel season.
