The president of the Nigeria/Algeria Chamber of Commerce, Kabiru Argungu has reiterated that the direct flight between Nigeria and Algeria will soon commence to encourage business between the two countries.

He stated this while responding to questions from LEADERSHIP in Kano on Tuesday after a meeting between businessmen in the two countries.

He explained that the two countries have since given consent for the establishment of the chamber to allow for interaction on the best way of doing business between the two countries through the sea, land and cargo business.

“Very soon the Algerian Airline will soon start flying flying Algiers – Abuja direct flight, which I believe the opportunity of cargo will come up in there. Meanwhile we use other airlines to fly to Algeria and to Abuja, but soon the Algerian Airline will commence direct flight.

“We are working in partnership with the Kano Association of Marketers and Entrepreneurs led by Hassan Yaro, to ensure all team of businessmen and Women that deal with the wing of Algeria we bring them in to look into the trans Saharan rout, of course those operating that rout presently are not doing it legally. We want to come up with a way all these businesses will be done legally, and in line with the African Free Trade Zone” he stated.

We are working hard to ensure that all records and documentation of business process through the rout is done in line with the law so that people will run their business without fear or hindrance that will bring fear to them of confiscating their goods. So that they will do their business clean, make their profits and move safely in line with the African Free Trade Zone law” he added.

He also said that plans to make Nigerians and Algerians interact freely in business operations and in line with the law to enhance economic development have gone far.

He reassured that as soon as the airline starts operation it is going to be very easy for them to travel between the two countries for business.

He also explained that there are many businesses that can be done between the two countries that include agriculture, manufacturing, services and others. The chamber of commerce is big and it provided opportunity for the two sides to interact and do business.
