Beneficiary states of the National Urban Water Sector Reform Projects funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) are meeting in Kano for project Coordination and review. In the annual 2-day workshop that started on Wednesday, Kano state is hosting Plateau, Ondo Enugu and Ogun states, begining from Wednesday in which the AFD project will be scrutinized for better implementation. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to resolve some lingering issues or risk another industrial action. ASUU President, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke gave the ultimatum in a statement on Wednesday, expressing frustration with the alleged delay tactics being used by the government to shy away from its pending commitments. The Presidency has confirmed that a cabinet reshuffle to be undertaken by President Bola Tinubu was imminent any moment from now. The presidency has clarified that the federal government will not intervene in the ongoing fuel price controversy between Dangote Refinery and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano, have arrested a 38-year-old drug trafficker, Okafor Ifeanyi Anthony while attempting to board a Qatar Airlines flight to Iran via Doha with 76 wraps of cocaine in his stomach.
