Just twenty-four hours after the early morning attack on a mosque in a village at Gezawa local government area of Kano state on Wednesday, no fewer than eleven persons have been confirmed dead and 25 other hospitalized with different degree of burns. Following an early morning incident where a mosque in which about 40 persons were performing the early morning prayer was set ablaze by a man, the perpetrator has willingly submitted himself to the police. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has initiated a monthly empowerment program providing N50,000 to 5,200 women in the state. This is contained in a statement issued by governor spokesperson Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Tuesday.
