The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has approved the increase of electricity tariff for customers under the Band A classification. This was announced on Wednesday by the NERC’s Vice Chairman, Musliu Oseni, at a news conference in Abuja. He said the increase will see the customers pay N225 kilowatt per hour from the current N66, which is about 300 percent increase. However, this increase only affects customers under Band A who enjoy 20 hours of electricity supply daily.
