The Kano Civil Society Election Situation Room has commended the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) as well as the State Government for conducting what it describes as “a well-organized local government election”. A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has sacked Prof. Sani Lawan Malumfashi as Chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC). Justice Simon Amobeda on Tuesday, gave the ruling, in a case filed by one Aminu Aliyu Tiga and All Progressive Congress (APC). The former lawmaker was released on Tuesday morning from the Kuje Correctional facility The former member of the House of Representatives, was sentenced to five years in prison for corruptly demanding and accepting a $500,000 bribe.
