The African Muslim Media Practitioners Organization (AMMPO) is deeply concerned about the ongoing dispute surrounding the Kano Emirates and urges all parties involved to prioritize peace, understanding, and the well-being of the people of Kano State.

As an organization committed to promoting responsible media practices and peaceful coexistence, AMMPO believes that the current situation requires careful consideration and constructive dialogue to resolve the issues amicably. We appeal to the government, traditional leaders, and all stakeholders to work together to find a lasting solution that respects the cultural and religious heritage of the people of Kano.

“We understand the significance of the Kano Emirates in the history and culture of the region, and we urge all parties to approach the situation with sensitivity and respect,” said Amb. Hussaini Abdulkadir Kalmatan.President of AMMPO. “We believe that through peaceful means, a resolution can be reached that honors the traditions of the Emirates while promoting the greater good of the people of Kano State.”

AMMPO calls on all media practitioners to report on the situation responsibly, avoiding sensationalism and inflammatory language that could exacerbate the situation. We also urge the public to remain calm and peaceful, even in the face of disagreement.

Together, we can find a path forward that promotes understanding, peace, and prosperity for all.
