Philanthropist Alhaji Abdulaziz Maituraka has launched the 2025 Ramadan feeding initiative, targeting approximately 1,000 less privileged individuals daily in his community, Sabuwar Kasuwa, Katsina.

Maituraka announced the initiative on Sunday during the inauguration of the free feeding programme, which would provide meals for those breaking their fast.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the initiative, which will continue throughout Ramadan, aims to offer 500 meals to less privileged individuals during Iftar, breaking of fast and another 500 during Sahur, midnight meal.

Maituraka, a Senior Legislative Aide to Deputy Senate President Sen. Barau Jibrin and a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), reiterated his commitment to giving back to the community.

Maituraka noted that the initiative aligned with the principles of the holy month of Ramadan, aiming to ensure that those in need had access to nutritious meals.

He also urged wealthy individuals in the community and state to join in supporting the less privileged during Ramadan.

“At the end of the exercise, there will be a prayer session to seek divine intervention for the current security challenges in the state,”he said.

Mr Umar Adamu, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to Maituraka for his generosity and prayed for divine blessings.
