The Federal Government has approved the conversion of the Federal College of Education, Kontagora to Federal University of Education, Kontagora, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history.

This development is expected to propel the university into a new era, with Professor Faruk Rashid Haruna appointed as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Prof Rashid with over six years of experience leading the Federal College of Education, Kontagora, brings his wealth of knowledge and leadership expertise to his new role.

Meanwhile, as part of the transition process, Professor Haruna has been tasked with ensuring that other Principal Officers continue to perform their duties in acting capacity until substantive appointments are made.

He will also submit a comprehensive report on the institution’s staffing, students, infrastructure, procurements, and accounts .

The university community is also urged to cooperate fully with the new administration to ensure a smooth transition.

With this exciting new chapter, stakeholders are optimistic about the institution’s potential to make a lasting impact on Nigeria’s education sector.
