The Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II has called for calm following the unfortunate looting and vandalization of both pubic and private properties in the state during the nationwide end bad governance protest.
The Emir addressed newsmen Friday evening calling on the youths to desist from looting and vandalization of property saying it is not in the interest of the people and the state.
He lamented over the loss of lives, destruction of the Kano Printing Press and the ICT Hub of the NCC due to be commissioned next week.
“Those youths that were killed are our children, the property destroyed belongs to us and we are the victims of all the losses encountered.
“The Kano Printing Press that was Burt down belongs to the people of Kano and money to be used in human development projects and will now have to be diverted for it’s repairs.
“The multi million naira ICT Hub of the Nigerian Communication Commission that was vandalized is due to be commissioned next week by the Minister. This is a federal government project that will benefit the youths of Kano on computer appreciation and others.
“It has now been vandalized and looted and this is not in the interest of the people of Kano”
The Emir further called on the public to avoid buying stollen goods and ask those who bring them to return them to where they looted them from.
He finally prayed for the reposed souls of those that lost their lives and property.
