The Facebook page belonging to renowned Hausa musician, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, has been deleted by the social media platform after users reported him for posting content deemed inappropriate.

Rarara, a well-known praise singer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), had posted his new song on his Facebook page where he hailed the President Bola Tinubu-led administration against the backdrop of widespread public criticisms over the prevailing economic hardship and insecurity in the country.

The song’s lyrics, which claimed there was no hunger or insecurity in the nation, sparked outrage among Facebook users, who accused the praise singer of being insensitive to the plight of Nigerians.

The Facebook page was subsequently reported to Meta, leading to its deletion on Sunday.

Ironically, Rarara’s mother was recently kidnapped by bandits and rescued after several days in captivity, underscoring the level of insecurity in the country.

Reports have it that the development comes on the heels of plans by some Nigerian youths to stage a nationwide protest against hardship and hunger in the country, which is scheduled to begin on August 1.
