The United States of America has absolved itself from any role in the helicopter crash that killed the Iranian President Ibrahim Ra’isi and the outspoken Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian, insisting it could be technical fault, pilot error or any other reason.

Speaking through its Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the US preemptively denied any role in the crash insisting that there was no reason to think it was anything other than an accident.

“The United States has no part to play in that crash. That’s a fact plain and simple.

“It could be a number of things, mechanical failure, pilot error, you name it” he stated.

However, he said they will continue to monitor the situation even as they don’t have “any insight into the cause of the accident” he said.

More so, the State Department Spokesman, Mathew Millet, announced the official condolence of the US government over the incident that led to the death of the president and other members of his delegation in the helicopter crash.

He further reaffirmed the support of US government to the Iranian people as a new President emerges in “their struggles for human rights and fundamental freedom” he said.
