Despite the global uprising against the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli government on Palestinians, the Nigerian Police in Kaduna have clampdown on peaceful pro-Palestinian demonstration killing four people and injuring twenty.

The protest which stated by 10:00am and lasted about an hour before the police clampdown, took place in Kaduna metropolis.

An eye witness who preferred his name not to be mentioned in print told our Correspondent that they were almost rounding up the peaceful demonstration when the police arrived the scene dispersing them with teargas and eventually using live bullets to shoot sporadically.

“As usual, every last Friday of the month of Ramadan, we use to stage peaceful demonstration to sympathise with the oppressed people of Palestine and condemn the Israeli aggression on them.

“The peaceful demonstration lasted for almost an hour before the arrival of the armed police men in more than ten vehicles where they clampdown on the demonstration.

“They fired teargas at us and immediately started shooting sporadically with live ammunition, shooting some in the neck, some in the stomach some in the leg and others.

“Infact we had reached the place where the protest was to be terminated when the police arrived. We started from Katsina Road roundabout and were to terminate at Bakin Dogo close to where they attacked and started shooting.

“From the records we have now, they killed four people while about twenty others have sustained different degrees of injury.

“How I wish they can do this to those bandits in the bush to secure the state instead of killing innocent unarmed citizens for expressing their constitutional rights” the eye witness stated.
