Lamido Mocks Elrufai, Welcomes Him To The Club Of Ordinary Nigerians

The Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido has mocked the former Governor of Kaduna State Nasiru Elrufai welcoming him to the club of ordinary Nigerians without political positions or power.

Lamido spoke with the Voice of America Hausa Service on Friday where he explained that now is the right time for Elrufai to understand that he is not actually seen as a hero by the people especially as he has no political appointment or power.

Although Lamido said he does not like talking about Elrufai, he said that when he was minister, he criticized the appointment of Elrufai as minister because he is not a politician, but later rose to become governor.

“I don’t like talking about Elrufai, I talked about him over ten years ago when I was Minister, I said he is not a politician and must not be given ministerial appointment, but he later became governor.

“What he fails to understand is that, it was the power and position that was talking then and not Elrufai as a person. Now that he has lost power and position, wherever he goes, it is Elrufai as a person that is talking.

“Presently, there is a Governor in Kaduna and he is ahead of him whether he likes it or not, he is the leader of the state whether he likes it or not. He occupies the power and position now.

“Thank God he has now returned to our path of ordinary persons without power or position, he will now see the reality of what it takes.

“There is indeed a difference talking while having power or position and talking while having no power or position.

“There are many like myself in this club of ordinary Nigerians, we’re over fifty in Nigeria or even more like myself without power or position, he is welcome to the club” he stated.

He spoke briefly on the nature of betrayal Elrufai is known for while commenting on Elrufai’s visit to Senator Abdul Ningi saying, he had been with others before including Obasanjo, so there is nothing new about that.
