Rescue Movement for New Nigeria aka Rescue the Vulnerable Initiative a registered Civil Society Group in Nigeria, felicitates with Christians on the occasion of the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The group also urges Christians to pray for Nigeria during this festivity that the power of resurrection will lift Nigeria out of the various challenges the country is presently facing.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Director, Media and Publicity of the group, Rev Emmanuel Olorunmagba and made available to newsmen in Kaduna. While soliciting prayers for Nigeria the group also added that, “as we pray for Nigeria, we also need to play our parts by doing the right thing at the right time.
“If Nigeria must be out of the present challenges, God factor cannot be overlooked, and that is why we are calling for prayers. At the same time we must play our parts by doing the right thing at the right time. In as much as we cannot play the role of God, also God will not play our part”.
Stressing that the initiative to do the right things at the right time towards overcoming the serious challenges the country is facing, must come first from our political leaders. “Considering the serious economic challenges we expected the leaders of this country to drastically cut down in the cost of governance and channel that to food production. Also we expected proper and effective monitoring to curtail corruption, wastage and laxity in governance.
“The religious leaders need to also stress on dignity of labour, working hard, commitment, honesty in all our dealing; in addition to our spiritual messages.
“While the masses should be committed in their work in all honesty especially civil servants rendering their services as should be, without expecting or initiating inducement of any kind.
“May God help our dear country to take her rightful place among the Comity of Nations again as the real Giant of Africa”, he concluded.
