The Spelling Bee Challenge Adamawa Quiz Contest ended on Saturday, June 24, as St Peters Minor Seminary beat Concordia College to the Champions place with one-point difference.
The Final which held at Club House of the AUN Hotel, Conference Centre and Spa, witnessed strong competition from all four schools involved – AUN Academy, Bright Future, Concordia College, and St Peters Minor Seminary.
At the end of proceedings, the all-boys’ school, under the tutelage of Mr Princewill Odu, surmounted the pressure from the all-girls teams of runner-up school, Concordia College, and Bright Future; carrying the day with 87 cumulative points to the former’s 86 and the latter’s 76 points.
The host school of the day, AUN Academy, represented by Sa’adatu Abari, Wachi Sajoh and Pascal Dogo, finished at fourth place with 61 points.
The champions, represented by the trio of Emmanuel Tajipo, Daniel Ayuba and John Medugu, will receive the reward of 100, 000; second placed winners, Ori-olowo Adebola, Sanni Aishat and Samantha Fwa of Concordia receive 75, 000 as runner-up prize and the 3rd place prize of 50, 000 goes to Bright Future High School comprising Goodness Tumba, Nubwa Yakubu and Miracle Dimas.
